VW Transporter Awning Kit

This VW Transporter Awning kit comes with the newest Thule Omnistor awning model; the TO 4200, and associated rail / brackets to enable it to be used on fixed roof or pop top vans as a VW T5 Awning or VW T6 Awning.  If your van has a T-Track rail fitted, please see the alternative kit available here.

The TO 4200 awning is available in White, Anodised (Silver) and Anthracite (Black) cassettes all with Mystic Grey fabric in the following lengths:

2.60m (2.0m projection) for SWB T5 and T6 Vans

3.0m (2.5m projection) for LWB T5 and T6 Vans

There are two options for fixing the awning to your vehicle; a Thule Adapter (LHD and RHD versions available) or a Vamoose Multi Rail and DV100 brackets (Passenger Side and Off Side available). The choice is completely down to personal preference on aethetics and how you wish to attach to your vehicle. A benefit of the Vamoose rail solution, is that it does provide some protection from the rain as it should run away in the rails gutter. It also allows a driveway awning to be used with the canopy and provides another option for the placing of the adapter, which may be useful if you have any obstructions.

The Thule adapter should be mounted on the edge of the roof and sidewall - this mounting requires no roof rail.

TO 4200 Key Features:

The Thule Omnistor 4200 features a smaller roller tube to previous models, which Thule engineers are proud to say enables a huge reduction in weight, while increasing stability and optimising fabric tension. With thanks to the new design of the awning's legs, when winding out the awning, the legs drop vertically to reduce the risk of damaging your vehicle. 

The roll-out canopy fabric is composed of one single sheet with welded joints which offers excellent waterproofing providing you with a long-lasting awning. A lighter fabric also helps the awning to retain fabric tension, reducing the build-up of puddles on the roof.
