Thule Weatherproofing Kit*

This kit has been designed to contain key items needed to support your Thule Awning in unfavourable weather conditions. Each kit contains the following items:

3 x Tension Rafters (apart from for 2.6m awnings or 4900 where only 2 Rafters are required as they go at the ends only) 

4 x Fabric Clamps (Two sets of 2, one set for each side of the awning)

1 x Hold Down Side Strap Kit

The kit for the 1200 awning contains 1 x Tension Rafter and 1 x Hold down side strap kit only as the Rafter goes down the centre of the awning so no Fabric Clamps are required (they can be purchased separately here if required).

Item Details:

Tension Rafters: Help to ensure an optimal tensioned awning fabric for a better wind resistance. Three rafters - one at either end of the awning and one in the centre (apart from with 2.6m awnings where the rafters are placed at the ends only).

Fabric Clamps: Provide a more secure fastening between the awning fabric and the tension or blocker rafter to prevent the unpleasant noise of a flapping awning fabric due to wind.

Hold Down Side Strap Kit: Attaches to the support legs of the awning in order to help prevent damage to the awning fabric due to wind.

Please note that this kit is designed to help protect your Thule Awning against the elements, however the following Thule guidance should be followed at all times in adverse weather conditions:

Thule Awning - Important Safety Instructions:

1. In case of rain, put one awning support leg much lower so that the water can easily drain off
2. When wind reaches 6 Bft. store the tent and close the awning
3. Don't place heat sources near the walls or roof
4. Avoid covering the refrigerator grill with he tent
5. Use a tension rafter on the awning before tightening the tent completely
6. Use a strap kit on the awning after tightening completely

Note: 6 Bft is defined as a Strong Breeze with winds of 22 to 27 Knots
